“Simply put, bio-power will put a lot of Floridians back to work. Florida can lead the nation in bio-power technology and the new jobs it can create”, according to Florida Agriculture and Consumer Services Commissioner Charles H. Bronson.
Using a laptop can help Florida residents save energy according to a report by My Florida Green Building, Florida residents who choose to surf the net with their laptop use up to 80% less energy that they would use with a desktop computer. Additionally research conducted in 2003 by the Natural Resources Defense Council suggests that it conserves more energy to run the laptop while plugged in compared to running it on battery status.
Florida residents can calculate personal or family’s greenhouse gas emissions by using the EPA’s online calculator.
The following schools will receive cutting-edge solar power arrays which will generate emissions-free electricity.

• J.D. Parker Elementary School, Stuart (Martin County)

• L.A. Ainger Middle School, Rotunda West (Charlotte County)
